“Manaia” Pounamu Pendant by Jen’s Stones

“Manaia” handcrafted by Jen in Ross at the West Coast of the South Island. Widely accepted as a tribal guardian. Traditionally, greenstone manaias are depicted with the head of a bird, the body of a man, and the tail of a fish.
This Pounamu (Flower Jade) comes from the Marsden region which is just outside of Greymouth and is a high grade Marsden greenstone.

Size of the carving: 50mm x 30mm

The pendant is attached to a 66cm hand-plaited waxed cotton cord.
